Adi Ophir
Biography
Adi M. Ophir is a Visiting Professor affiliated with the Cogut Institute for the Humanities and the Center for Middle East Studies. He is also Professor Emeritus at Tel Aviv University. His scholarly interests include political theory, contemporary continental philosophy, and political theology. He is the author of, most recently, The One-State Condition (Stanford University Press, 2012), co-authored with Ariella Aïsha Azoulay; Goy: Israel’s Multiple Others and the Birth of the Gentile (Oxford University Press, 2018), co-authored with Ishai Rosen-Zvi; In the Beginning was the State: Divine Violence in the Hebrew Bible (Fordham University Press, 2023); and On Ruling Power [Al Hashilton] (Resling, 2022). He is a founding member of the Political Concepts initiative and director of its iteration at the Cogut Institute.
