Amanda Anderson has led the Cogut Institute for the Humanities since 2015 and is Andrew W. Mellon Professor of English and Humanities.

The board advises the director on the institute’s strategic direction and participates in fellowship and award selection processes.

The Cogut Institute is home to Brown University’s Humanities Initiative scholars, as well as several visiting and affiliated faculty members. Humanities Initiative Scholars are appointed jointly at the institute and in a department at the distinguished chair level.
